The Dearborn Belle Tire 05 team started out hot the defeating OJG 3-1 and KV Rebels 6-1 on Saturday after a snowy drive to Hazel Park. The boys cooled off on Sunday but managed a 4-2 win over Novi then lost 2-0 to the St. Clair Shores Red team. It looked like the boys were losing steam over the long weekend fighting for a 4-4 tie against Rochester Purple on day 3 which afforded them second place in the 5 game round-robin at 3-1-1. The SCS Red team came out hot in championship game at their home rink, scoring 4 early goals on the clearly tired Belle Tire team who got better as the game went along but could not recover from the deficit losing 6-1. The long weekend took its toll but overall a successful weekend for the team.
Their efforts this weekend were good enough to move the team into the top 10 in Michigan for the first time in the MYHockeyRankings.com Tier 2 Bantam A rankings. Way to go boys!
